hi guys! I know my “sewing” videos are not really “sewing”, but I’ve noticed filming really slows me down to the point I feel really uninspired and drop the project, so I decided to talk about what I did instead of showing it. I know it’s more boring that way so skip to 13:47 for the actual outfit 💃
O
I like your channel for inspiration and entertainment, not like technical stuff, you're much too fun for that
I really respect & appreciate that you acknowledge that it's better for you to do reporter/presenter style talking & create off camera, right now. I appreciate the context. As J Itaru & others say below, Your talking parts are so wonderfully researched & thoughtfully presented. At this point, we all have to do what is best for ourselves, to keep on keeping on. I can only barely imagine the challenges you face. Yet, as said above, you find time, stamina & focus to create & present excellent archaic clothing, with detailed relevant footnotes and forthcoming helpful tidbits. I hope you find your prop (Edwardian golf club). And, I hope that you find a way to make your hat behave. I don't suppose they stuffed the hats to make them stay in shape (like a hair rat). Now I am curious. Please do a follow up, even if ia mini video, if you find the answer.
@J Itaru Very well put 🙂🧚♀️
Glad you recognized that and are able to do your thing to keep yourself passionate about what you're doing!
I can't believe I read "Edwardian Golf Slut" 😭
Could you wear the hat backwards--the back seems flat.
Have you gotten any work doing outfits for movies/TV yet? Cause your work is amazing,.
okay, hear me out you look like jane from tarzan (well done)
14:06: ...stunning young lady, frolicking in the leaves in her gorgeous 1905 golf suit, and behind her over the river a one year old Solaris New Urbino 18, which looks exactly like Batmobile... ...don't know why, but i like that a LOT (yes i'm a weirdo i'm sorry i'll go now)
the piano piece on ending song, please?
Too thiccc for the pattern
Hand sew the top part of the hat to the peak about 1.5cm in from the edge using hidden stitches (are they slip stitches? I dunno). I made a men's on and once I did this it sat perfectly and looked just like the photos of originals.
i think norfolk is pronounced like "nor-fu'k", it's weird but for some reason that's more the dominant pronunciation over nor-folk
The cut of your jacket is fabulous. So nicely done. My gran was a seamstress and I have many of the clothes she used to wear years ago. It looks like a wonderfully comfortable outfit and I love the hat. It does stand up a bit at times but other times looks completely spot on. The fabric style and design is so perfect in evoking the time!!
💗🎃🌙👻🧡🖤🍂🍃🍁
Karolima what a great smile you have. Fabulous white teeth. You could do toothpaste commercials. Lovely looks. We love your ideas about revamping vintage clothes for today without destroying the original style
queen
I dream of meme mom making me a pretty outfit 🥺🥺 she’s just so talented and sweet and funny.
Personally, I would like the cap better if it would cover my hair. The rest is adorable
Did u make that mask?!?! 😍😍😍 Pls drop a pattern my ears are dying
14:10 karolina about to drop the hottest mixtape of 1910
Whats the name of last song?
hey what's the name of the piano song at the end?
What’s the piano piece at the end?
I need that mask tutorial though! Oh, my gosh! Gorgeous!
Oh she's just beautiful isn't she?
I wasn't a fan of history but after watching karolina's channel for 2 weeks i now love history
I just started my period and it 5:22 in the morning and I want to sleep but I can't cause it hurts so thanks for helping me take my mind off of everything.💚
Corset Making Tutorial! Please!
Przepisując adres tej strony z wykrojami zrobiłam literówkę i wylądowałam w sklepie z lateksowymi strojami dla fetyszystów :D
I'm really not a skirt-person, but I'd wear the hell out of that jacket. It just looks amAZING. Also Edwardian Era is kinda close to the last pandemic, so the mask isn't even that off :P
I laughed so hard at the first five seconds because I had left the speed at 0.25x. My humor has been so badly damaged distorted sounding music SENT ME.
you should have used the extra fabric to make a matching mask
Karolino! Musisz obejrzeć to nagranie, miód dla oczu!!! Oczyszczone i wygładzone filmy z XIX wieku :') amwine.info/town/Zn3Vf6JitraoqZc/video.html
Must be lovely live next to her, imagine you are on your way to buy your milk and an edwardian lady just, casualy passes by and everyone is: "There it is Karolina, back at it again, good for her"
Fersure, menswear inspired women's sportswear is definitely way hot. Then and now. I especially liked those victorian riding outfits your showed which embodied elegant restraint that presaged the dandyism of the Edwardian period. Top hat with net veil + black suit plays with gender roles which is completely sexy.
😂😂I love the part where you realize your phone is in the shot bc I like to ignore the face you were probably recording audio on it and just think your hands were doing their own thing 😂😂
I want to be friends with an Victorian/Edwardian lady
O
...
I don't think the collar is rubbish. I am so impressed with the golf suit you made!
Now need historically correct Spanish flu face masks..... :)
comment 7 of asking for a video about dressing up and costumes in the past (halloween etc)
comment 5 of asking for a video about dressing up and costumes in the past (halloween etc)
you're in the red zone by yourself outside?
behind on my video watching but wanted to say I hope your friend is well
Dear meme mum, please tell us if corsets were so cool, why women stopped wearing them?
"omg that's the same fly from last time, from like 3 weeks or something." How do you actually know that?
I think the whole out fit is beautiful, you are adorable in it.
according to the cdc you wouldn’t need the mask out in the open i thought...it’d be nice to see the expressions on your face better
This totally has reinspired me for a cosplay/bounding idea I had. There is a pair of kelpie in a episode of the new duck tales series. It’s all about golf. And at first I wanted to do a Lolita and golf outfit but wasn’t having much luck finding ideas to work with. But this Edwardian golf outfit is a the best starting point.
Do you ever think about how fashion historians are going to write about 2020, the proliferation of work from home clothes, stretchy waistbands, formal on top pajamas on the bottom?
Your fun, informative videos take the sting out of losing my decades-long job to this pandemic. The golf suit is beautifully made, and the matching of the plaid/stripes is the precision work of a perfectionist. You're far too modest, girlfriend!
Sending love to the people in Poland and Belarus. You make this American so Happy
I don't know much about sewing but hearing Karolina explaining her methods are absolutely fascinating, and I love the patterns on the the whole outfit. Fits very well with the autumn background!
don't worry about the fly, he's a bro. flies are harbingers of social progress. he's probably the guy who sat on Mike Pence's head during the VP debate
I really enjoy how you mainly talk throughout the video and show your face rather than only have footage of you making the garment with a voice over because I feel like I am having a conversation with you and I learn a lot more. Thank you!
I loved the whole thing! But what I really want to know is: where can a get a mask or pattern like the one that K wears at the park? I get constant headaches from earloops and this looks like a winner!
I'm loving the mask pattern! Here in the USA it seems like all masks have ear loops, but Karolina's doesn't. (Correct me if I'm wrong) If anyone ever sees this buried comment and can point me to an earloop-less mask pattern or vendor, I'd appreciate it! Xx
Gah the photoshoot was so beautiful! If I mind the mask? I think its so pretty and matches your outfit too... (in these times of plague the mask is a mere requirement, but in that shoot yours even looked like it kinda belonged :-)
You look really beautiful in this video (I mean in the beginning). The lip shade looks perfect on you!
Where can I get a mask like that?
Wow I love how it came out so cute
Solidarity and condolences from Murica.
I’m a recent fashion design graduate. I reference historical dress a lot, and this video gave me inspiration for a new look to design. Thank you :-)
i love your jewelry 😃
This is incredible! I am very interested in seeing how you do Edwardian hair styles now that you have your shorter haircut.
So stunning!
14:38 You used my favorite pose when there’s a tree involved! Yaaas! I LOVE IT! P.s. Who needs an original wooden Victorian golf club when you can hug a huge tree that was around during the Victorian era? #ShesWinning

Your videos make my day your funny and informative at the same time.
Sleeves are from satan
lovely!
My grandma gifted me her old jewelry she bought in 1960 and I'm excited to wear them when I get older
Gorgeous video lovely suit amazing ending
I would watch 15 minutes only of you playing with the autumn leaves in this costume. Also, jeez, you really make me want to start sewing!
Ya rocking that look today my dear!
I understand your struggle with the hem. I tried using a synthetic horsehair trim hidden in the hem to stiffen mine.
omg why can´t I think of what the background music is called? can someone help me please???
I am officially in love with those boots o.o
There's two kinds of people in this world: The Edwardians and the Victorians. Who will win? On your mark, let's start The Fashion Feud!!
Karolina- it's still kinda rubbish Me struggling to darn my pants- You're fabulous darling💙
More this kind of videos, please :)
That’s one of the most horrifying mannequins I’ve ever seen.
What does it say about 2020 that when she said her country was on fire I automatically thought she meant literally?
I like the cap, it's very Mario...
you suggest that being afraid to start new sewing projects is a ridiculous thought but here i am.. afraid to start new sewing projects.. so uhh thanks that statement was needed, brb bout to start a new sewing project
This is completely off topic but I can see my old primary school in this video (that building behind the bars) and it's making me feel very melancholic
Nice to know that all that lining in so many clothes I made can be learned in this century. I never gave a send thought to it. ;-)
I'm so jealous of your frolicking in the leaves! There are too many people who don't pick up after their dogs where I live, it's too dangerous to assume one can frolic in the leaves on the ground. I also love the fabric, and the suit you made from said fabric.
I liked it. Quite a huge undertaking with wonderful results.
If this woman ever starts a depop... I will buy anything, just saying 👀
15:16 I did that about a week ago and my friend thought me insane. Unfortunately I can't send her this video because she might be of the opinion that it only reinforces her point.
Is that Daniel Radcliffe in a dress at 1:53??
Came out great, especially with the fall foliage.
Seriously, that outfit is dope, good job!
I love this! The outfit came out really well! And I love the leaf frolicking :)
Ancestral Polish person checking in to send you love from the States.
so nice thank u for the vid ! can u do or show more sport wear for women ? i like how it looks on you !
"My country is on fire" wrzyscy wiemy że wcześniej czy później to się musiało stać...
I was just looking at sports corsets and archery gowns so yeah feminine sports wear. Speaking of being afraid of sewing projects, I did have an idea for a corset cover style cami to cover my sports bras but I started just a normal cami. Lol
Unsubbed cuz mask. I'm petty, I know it 💅
I swear every time I watch one of your videos i get so distracted by the music in the background lol... I'm like is that rondo alla turka??? deux arabesques????
